Milestones & technological advancements

Confocal laser scanning microscopy

Purpose:

To facilitate research on oral biofilm both in development and growth.
 

Results:

  • To study the three-dimensional architecture of microbial biofilms.

  • To evaluate the efficacy of mouthwash solutions on these bacterial structures.

  • To study the composition of the extracellular matrix secreted by oral pathogens.
